In togetherness we yield / Em união cedemos

Today I attended an  interpretive poetry recital brunch. I recited a poem I came up with last night  entitled, 'In togetherness we yield" both in English and Portuguese- 

There are things I choose to record,

 Those I choose to forget,

 others I choose to ignore

Many I choose to forgive.

We are different, yet united

Not by our beliefs, hopes and dreams

Those vary.

The differences make the journey all the more exciting

So as we forge harmony

Remember, Unity and togetherness is not about sameness

Its about yielding

To love, hope and dream that we can be a shoulder, 

pillar and backbone for each other.

Em união cedemos

Há coisa que eu escolher para gravar,

Aqueles que optam por esquecer, outros que preferem ignorar e

Muitos eu escolho perdoar.

Nós somos diferentes, mas unidos

Não por nossas crenças, sonhos e esperanças

Aqueles variar.

A diferença faz a viagem ainda mais emocionante

Então, enquanto nós buscamos harmonia

Lembre-se, a Unidade ea união não é sobre a mesmice

Trata-se de ceder

Ao amor, esperança e sonho que podemos ser um ombro pilar,

e espinha dorsal para o outro.
